Dolmabahce Mosque (Domabahçe Camii), built in the 19th century, carries traces of western architecture. The mosque, built by Nigoğos Balyan, which has many signature works in the Ottoman Empire, stands out with its baroque architectural elements. The construction of the unique mosque that adorns Beşiktaş was started in 1852 at the request of the wife of Sultan II. Mahmud, Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan.

When Valide Sultan passed away, Dolmabahce Mosque (Domabahçe Camii) was completed by the order of her son Abdulmecid. The building, which was built in 1855, blended Ottoman decorative art with western architecture.

It is known that Balyan preferred the stone and marble in his construction, giving the mosque an elegant but strong character. The mosque, which was used as the Naval Museum between 1948 and 1961, was restored after the museum moved to its new building. After the restoration works of the General Directorate of Foundations, the work, which was opened for worship again in 1966, challenges the years with its first day beauty.

Located in Beşiktaş, the mosque has a very impressive view like other mosques at the seaside. In this mosque, which resembles a palace, round windows and baroque-style decorations made different from the architecture of the period will attract your attention.
