Contactless Pedestrian Button Is Installed At Traffic Lights In Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality made the buttons on the pedestrian crossings contactless within the scope of the measures taken against the coronavirus (Covid-19).
In the statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, in the coordination of the Traffic Directorate of the Transportation Department, contactless pedestrian buttons were started to be attached to the traffic lights.

Pedestrians Will Not Have To Press The Button

Within the scope of the measures taken against viruses, pedestrians will not have to press the button with the new version of the accessible pedestrian button. By bringing his hands closer to the button, he will be able to cross a healthy and safe way.

The contactless pedestrian button with its photocell feature will alert Istanbul residents aloud and will give a ‘Stay at Home’ message.

Providing information about the button, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Traffic Manager Tuncay Önderoğlu stated that touching the common areas caused by the epidemic caused anxiety and said, “We will put the contactless pedestrian button that we have put into practice in 14 points in the coming days, especially in the regions where there is intense pedestrian circulation.
