Cagaloglu Bath (Cağaloğlu Hamamı), built by Mahmud I, is the last large Ottoman bath built in Istanbul. The sultan built this bath in order to cover the expenses of the library in Hagia Sophia with his income. Although the plan of the bath belongs to Architect Süleyman Ağa, it was completed by Architect Abdullah Ağa.

The work, which draws attention with its Baroque style architecture, differs from many Ottoman classical baths with this feature. Bath; It dazzles you with its large dome, consoles around it, marble pool in the middle, and three-storey showy fountain.

Cagaloglu Bath (Cağaloğlu Hamamı) consists of two different sections for women and men. Another feature of this bath is that the bath water is heated with olive beans brought from Ayvalık. Cağaloğlu Bath is on the New York Times ‘1000 Places to See Before Death’ list.
